Specifically, impacted devices may show vertical bright areas along the bottom of the screen or experience a complete backlight failure. This issue, often referred to as the "stage light effect," is caused by a flex cable problem that connects the display to the main logic board. Over time, repeated opening and closing of the MacBook lid can strain the cable, leading to malfunctions.
